4-star offensive lineman Bentley Spain reportedly gave Larry Fedora’s UNC Tar Heels a commitment last night, according to several sources. He gave a verbal pledge to North Carolina over offers from Michigan, Stanford, Virginia, LSU, and South Carolina.
Bentley, an offensive tackle from Charlotte Providence (NC) HS is ranked by Rivals as the No. 152 overall prospect in the country, No. 120 by 247Sports, and the No. 16 OT in the nation by Scout.com.
When asked by InsideCarolina when Spain felt he’d made the decision to join the Heels, he answered:
“I went to Stanford last week and that was to make sure and decide. I was kind of feeling it before that, but I wanted to make sure. That’s really when it happened.”
Spain becomes the 19th known commitment for UNC’s 2014 class, and the fourth 4-star prospect in that group.
