Time has flown by for Quinn Cook

Duke guard Quinn Cook dropped by The David Glenn Show this week to talk about senior night, his memories as a Blue Devil and what it’s like to play with a star-studded freshman class. Cook will play his final game in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Wednesday against Wake Forest.

It’s been 1,601 days since Cook committed to Duke, but the Washington D.C. native says it doesn’t seem like that.

“Time has wings,” Cook said. “Where does all the time go? I remember driving down from Oak Hill (Academy) and coming to (Nolan Smith’s) senior night, and four years later it’s mine.”

Since arriving in Durham, Cook has gone from being a solid contributor to a first-team All-ACC candidate. He credits hard work and his coaches for his development.

“Here at Duke, Coach K is brutally honest,” Cook stated. “He doesn’t beat around the bush, and he wants you to be great. He tells you the things that you need to do. and if you’re not doing them, then you won’t be successful.

“I had to really take a look in the mirror. Coach Capel really helped me a lot, since he played here. He’s very successful at what he does.”
