Looks like Miami Coach Al Golden is battening the hatches when it comes to recruiting in South Florida.
Golden has lured Tim “Ice” Harris from his job as head coach of Miami high school football power Booker T. Washington High School.
His job: liaison with high school coaches, which should provide an immediate benefit in competitive South Florida recruiting battles.
Harris previously worked with Miami, under former head coach Randy Shannon, from 2008 to 2010. Golden took over as head coach of the Hurricanes following the 2010 season.
Miami had as many as seven former Booker T. Washington players on its roster while Harris was on the Hurricanes’ staff. Last season, senior running back Eduardo Clements, recruited by former coach Randy Shannon’s staff before Golden took over, was the only Booker T. Washington alum on the team. There are no players from the school on the current roster. Arkansas, where Shannon is now an assistant coach, has one Booker player on the roster and is involved with several Miami-based prospects.
