Miami needed to add some size to their 2014 recruiting class, and recently they did just that. Omar Sherman - a 6-8, 220 pound power forward - is the third 2014 prospect to commit to Jim Larranaga's program.
Sherman, who plays his high school ball at Dallas (Texas) Prime Prep Academy, decided to roll with the Hurricanes over the likes of Wichita State (fresh of their epic 2013 NCAA Tournament run), North Texas and Weber State.
Brian Gregory and Georgia Tech offered the Texan a scholarship, too.
With Sherman (who is said to have an incredible set of hands) in the mix now, Miami now has two top-100 recruits in their 2014 class. Four-star point guard JaQuan Newton is ranked No. 55 in the class, according to Scout. The same recruiting service has Sherman pegged as the No. 93 prospect in the 2014 class.
Combo guard James Palmer, who is rated as a three-star recruit, is the other member of Larranaga's class.
