SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Maryland shot the ball so poorly on Thursday night, it hardly mattered that No. 16 Alabama’s leading scorer was essentially a non-factor.
JaMychal Green went to the bench early in the game with two quick fouls and Tony Mitchell stepped up with 15 of his 17 points in the first half to lead the Crimson Tide to a 62-42 win over Maryland in the opening round of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
