COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen had plenty to worry about this week as he prepared for Saturday’s game against Middle Tennessee.

Friedgen was concerned about the Blue Raiders’ overall team speed. He was wary of their spread offense. He also wondered how the Terrapins would fare without cornerback Nolan Carroll, who is lost for the season with a broken leg.
