WINSTON-SALEM — Should Wake Forest be a passing team? That idea would be a shocking concept in the Jim Grobe era.
In Grobe’s first five seasons, 67.7 percent of Wake’s plays were runs. That was with good reason, of course, as Grobe and his zone-blocking scheme built the Demon Deacons into one of the best running teams in the country.
