BLACKSBURG - For Virginia Tech, the 2006 season began to unfold on Jan. 7. That morning, in a room packed with reporters, coach Frank Beamer made official what already was known - that quarterback Marcus Vick was being booted from the team - and vowed that there would be more changes.
