CORAL GABLES — While it is generally unthinkable to promote an assistant of a head coach who has just been fired, Miami defensive coordinator Randy Shannon was receiving serious consideration for the school’s vacant head coaching position as the search entered the first full week of December.
His candidacy is so serious that UM didn’t promote him to interim coach…
