PUT UP OR SHUT UP
If someone had told me before this season began that an ACC team would win 23 games, 10 league games, finish third in the conference standings and be left out of the NCAA tournament field, I’d have thought that person was certifiably insane.

Out of the six ACC teams in the NCAA Tournament only one looks like a lock to get to the second round.
Top-seeded Duke gets the luxury of opening play with Arkansas Pine-Bluff, which entered its conference tournament with a .500 record and had to beat Winthrop in the play-in game just to get this far.
Fourth-seeded Maryland may be the only other ACC club favored in the first round and the…One-On-One With: Gary Williams, Part 2urn:uuid:1225c695-cfb8-4ebb-aaaa-80da344efa6a2010-03-17T11:41:45ZOne-On-One With: Gary Williams, Part 2

The NCAA is investigating the expansion of the NCAA tournament field from its current size of 65 teams to 96 teams.
The proposal has provoked a lot of debate and criticism. Several coaches have offered alternatives – Maryland’s Gary Williams suggested “we crawl” forward to 68 or 72 teams. Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski has suggested that expanding the field would provide the NCAA with a…David Glenn Chats With Ron Wellmanurn:uuid:1225c695-cfb8-4ebb-aaaa-80da344efa6a2010-03-17T00:19:57ZDavid Glenn Chats With Ron Wellman

There was no shortage of effort in the ACC tournament. Ball-handling and good shooting though, were scarce.

Maryland’s Gary Williams is among the most successful basketball coaches in ACC history. He’s also a volatile sideline presence who somehow has never received the full measure of appreciation his accomplishments merit.
Only two coaches in the league’s 57 years, North Carolina’s Dean Smith and Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, have amassed more victories than Williams’ 202 in…ACC Recruiting Watch, March 15urn:uuid:1225c695-cfb8-4ebb-aaaa-80da344efa6a2010-03-15T14:02:26ZACC Recruiting Watch, March 15
