COLLEGE PARK — At halftime in Charlottesville, Maryland’s season was on life support.

Maryland trailed 20-0 to a Virginia team that isn’t any good. The Terrapins were in danger of falling to 3-3 overall, 0-2 in the ACC. Had they been blown out by the hapless Cavaliers, the attitude and atmosphere surrounding the program surely would have reached rock-bottom….
