RECRUITING 2007-08

The elder Ehrmann was featured in the book "Season of Life" by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jeffrey Marks, and is a nationally renowned motivational speaker.

Top 2008 Recruiters: Tight ends coach Tom Elrod has become an ace recruiter in northern Florida for the Demon Deacons over the past few years, and he once again snagged several promising players from the region this year. They included Ponte Vedra Beach quarterback Ted Stachitas and several Jacksonville/St. Augustine area prospects, such as linebackers Scott Betros and Riley Haynes, offensive lineman Ramon Booi and tight end Andrew Parker.

States Represented (7): Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia.

Academic Worries: none.

Key Misses: NC OL Jonathan Cooper (North Carolina), IL LB Russell Ellington (Illinois), KY ATH Matt Roark (Kentucky), TX RB Terrence Robinson (Michigan), FL LB Tarik Rollins (Clemson), OH DE Greg Scruggs (Louisville), TX QB Rico Smalls (Virginia), KY TE Ryan Wallace (Colorado).

Quotable Quote: "It’s a good situation because we’ve always been able to sell Wake Forest as one of the best schools in the country. That’s been a slam dunk. Parents believe that and kids believe that. But being able to convince them they can come and compete for championships in football was not an easy sell. Now it is an easy sell. We don’t have to sell that any more."
Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe
