Interesting Story: Defensive end signee Antonio Wilson was more of a
basketball standout throughout the majority of his high school career, and he
played just one year of prep football. After he recorded 11 sacks as a senior,
however, several BCS schools took notice. Although he originally committed to
Vanderbilt, Wilson made a switch and sent his letter of intent to Atlanta on
signing day.
Top 2008 Recruiters: Linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary, who was retained
by new head coach Paul Johnson upon his arrival in Atlanta, helped the Yellow
Jackets secure multiple prominent recruits, including highly touted interior
lineman Omoregie Uzzi, the No. 19 offensive guard nationally in the Rivals.com
rankings. Jean-Mary also served as the lead recruiter for California defensive
back Brandon Leslie, Ohio linebacker B.J. Machen, Florida running back Embry
Peeples, Florida offensive lineman Philip Smith and Georgia athlete Cooper Taylor.
Jean-Mary also played a role in keeping talented Miami linebacker Malcolm Munroe
firm to the Yellow Jackets during the coaching transition.

Texas.
Academic Worries: none.
Key Misses: FL ATH TSharvan Bell (Auburn), AL DE Undra Billingsley

Quotable Quote: "I am very pleased with this class. We feel like this
is a group of kids who will work hard and who are extremely excited about coming
to Georgia Tech. I think we were able to recruit quality kids, while filling
some needs at every position group. I think we have some good fits for what
we want to do on offense and defense. My staff worked very hard to produce solid
results in a short amount of time."
