Interesting Story: FSU received signatures from three teammates at Jacksonville First Coast: wide receiver Avis Commack, all-purpose back Jermaine Thomas, and linebacker Nigel Carr. The trio, who will be the first-ever players from First Coast to play for the Seminoles, led the Buccaneers to an 11-3 record and a run to the third round of the Florida Class 4A playoffs in 2007.

Top 2008 Recruiters: Offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher helped FSU lure three of the top 250 players in the country: linebacker Nigel Bradham, tight end Jabaris Little and quarterback E.J. Manuel. Fisher also led in the recruitments of California junior college standout running back Tavares Pressley and unheralded wide receiver Josh Gehres. Wide receivers coach Lawrence Dawsey was the lead recruiter for four in-state standouts: linebacker Nigel Carr, wide receiver Avis Commack, defensive tackle Moses McCray and running back Jermaine Thomas. Defensive ends coach Jody Allen helped the Seminoles recruit the best class of ends in the ACC, with juco All-American Markus White, Floridians Toshmon Stevens and Travis Arnold, and South Carolina product Everett Dawkins.

States Represented (11): Alabama, California (junior college), Florida, Georgia, Kansas (junior college), New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia.

Academic Worries: many. Defensive back commitment Travis Arnold is expected to enroll at Butler County (KS) Community College in the fall.
