Media Watch: FSU-Miami Still A Draw Premium Content

When Miami joined the ACC in 2004, league officials envisioned the Hurricanes’ annual showdown with Florida State as the football version of their basketball rivalry between North Carolina and Duke.

It had all the desired elements, including nationally exclusive prime-time television exposure on the Monday night of Labor Day weekend.

But both programs have since fallen off drastically.

And yet despite that, there can be little argument that Florida State-Miami is still by far the ACC’s signature rivalry. Just look at the way television covered it on Saturday.
