Seth Greenberg is one of the most media- and fan-friendly coaches in the nation, and that status often leads to getting the benefit of the doubt in the court of public opinion, but he took plenty of heat last March.
Greenberg had complained openly about his Virginia Tech team being left out of the NCAA Tournament. On their Selection Sunday resume, the Hokies had a 19-13 overall record, a 9-7 ACC mark, a fourth-place league finish, a two-point loss to eventual ACC champion North Carolina in the conference tournament semifinal, and a 5-2 record (with very close losses to NCAA-bound UNC and Clemson) down the stretch.
