Remember the guy who famously posted a recruiting letter from N.C. State to his Instagram that said “NC STATE NEEDS=BALLERS YOU=BALLER?”
That letter became the laughingstock of the Internet, especially because
So what exactly is this baller going to bring to N.C. State?
While unranked by both Rivals.com and Scout.com, Wright has a lot of potential. He’s another in-state guy for the Wolfpack, which is always a good thing. Coming from Wilson (N.C.) Hunt, Wright is a 6-foot-2, 205-pound prospect who will come in as a safety, but there’s a chance he could also play outside linebacker.
One of Wright’s biggest strengths is his speed. After attending a Shrine Bowl combine and posting multiple 40-yard dash times less than 4.4 seconds, he started to receive a lot of looks from schools. North Carolina and N.C. State offered, following his first offer of East Carolina.
But Wright says this was a pretty easy decision for him.
“I really fell in love with them from the start,” Wright told TheWolfpacker.com. “To have the opportunity to go there, I knew it was a great opportunity. At the same time, I wanted to weight my options with the other schools. At the end of the day, State is where I wanted to go.”
And for the record, laughing at that letter will never get old.
