20 YEARS AGO – 1982 Duke was the surprise of the NFL draft, as six Blue Devils were picked in the first five rounds. That was the same number of draftees produced by national champion Clemson. Four N.C. State players were taken, headed by wide receiver Mike Quick.

The ACC world was awaiting decisions by James Worthy and Ralph Sampson regarding the NBA draft….
