Syracuse picked up a big commitment from 2015 wing Malachi Richardson.
Malachi Richardson is one of the top wings in the 2015 class, and he's decided to end his recruitment early. Late last week Richardson, who plays at Hamilton (N.J.) Trenton Catholic Academy, pledged to Syracuse. He joins power forward Tyler Lydon in Syracuse's 2015 class.
"I felt that Syracuse was the best fit for me," Richardson told Syracuse.com. "I loved everything about Coach (Jim) Boeheim and the Syracuse program. That really sealed the deal for me."
Richardson is a five-star prospect, rated the No. 3 small forward in the country by Scout.com. ESPN.com has him ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect in the Class of 2015.
The other finalists in this recruitment were Arizona, Indiana, Rutgers, UConn and Villanova. He's got a sweet stroke that should help him find playing time early in his career.
With his long arms, Richardson also looks like he could be an ideal fit in Jim Boeheim's zone defense.
This is a huge pickup for Syracuse, and if you want to see how he plays, here are some highlights.
