Hurricanes center Shane McDermott was named to the spring watch list for the Rimington Trophy, given annually to the best center in college football.
McDermott has started 23 games at center for Miami over the last two seasons. He was also named to the Rimington watch list last season.
One Miami center has won the Rimington Trophy, Brett Romberg, in 2002, the third year of the trophy’s existance.
