Pitt starter suspended for the season

Pittsburgh cornerback Titus Howard has been suspended for the 2014 season, Paul Chryst announced on Friday. The sophomore will be able to use a redshirt this year and return in 2015.

Howard started two of the 11 games in which he saw action last year and totaled 21 tackles. He was projected to be a starter this fall.

With Howard down, sophomore Trenton Coles is the front-runner to start in his place.
