Last night, the Pitt Panthers snagged a commitment from an in-state recruitJaQuan Davidson.

Right before his school (Elizabeth (PA) Foward) took on West Mifflin (PA) High Thursday evening, Davidson - a dual-threat QB/athlete - committed to first-year coach Paul Chryst's program.

While he lines up under center for his high school team, Davidson, who is the 18th commit in Pitt's 2014 class, will likely be converted to a wide receiver when he arrives on campus. Some schools that recruited Davidson wanted to turn him into a defensive back.

The Pennsylvania-native received seven scholarship offers, including West Virginia, Illinois, and UCONN.

247Sports Composite rankings have Davidson slotted as the No. 12 dual-threat quarterback and the No. 12 overall prospect in Pennsylvania.
