Georgia outside linebacker recruit Jonathan Greenard announced Sunday, via his personal twitter account, that he has committed to the University of Louisville.
Greenard becomes the third commitment of the Cardinals' 2015 class. He is ranked as the 93rd best linebacker by 247Sports and carries a 3-star grade; however, he will be transitioning to defensive end for the Cardinals.
At 6-4, 220 pounds, he is considered relatively small for the defensive end position, but he possesses supreme athleticism to make up for it. He tallied 22 tackles for a loss and six sacks during his junior year at Hiram High School.
Greenard is the third player to pledge to the Cardinals in the 2015 class, along with defensive back T.J. Jallow and offensive tackle Troy Thingstad. Greenard is the fourth defensive end to commit to Louisville in the past two classes, so early playing time might be scarce on the defensive line.
Greenard surprised many by committing to the Cardinals just one day after visiting in-state rival Kentucky. Greenard also held offers from Appalachian State, Middle Tennessee State and South Alabama.
