Florida State has added another guard to its 2014 class with a commitment from three-star prospect Kedar Edwards.

Edwards comes from State Fair Community College, where he is averaging 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in his first year in the junior college ranks. Before enrolling at State Fair, he redshirted his freshman season at LIU-Brooklyn. Because of his experience, he will have three years of eligibility at Florida State. He is considered a recruit, not a transfer, so he is eligible to play for the Seminoles next year.

The 247 Sports Composite ranks Edwards the No. 25 junior college prospect in the country.

Coach Leonard Hamilton likely went the junior college route to find an experienced player who can contribute immediately. FSU loses two of its three leading scorers in Ian Miller and Okaro White. The Seminoles will be thin in the backcourt, as only Aaron Thomas and Devon Bookert return at the guard positions. Xavier Rathan-Mayes was a highly touted guard coming out of high school, but he had to sit out his freshman season this year due to academic issues.

Edwards and fellow junior college commitment Dayshawn Watkins likely won’t be All-ACC caliber players, but they will provide solid backcourt depth to a team that needs it.

Here's a couple of highlights of Edwards:
