North Carolina added four commitments to an already long list of recruits over the weekend.
Johnathan Sutton was the first to decide that he would play football at UNC. The outside linebacker out of Swansea, S.C., joins North Carolina’s Class of 2015 as the second linebacker commitment. Sutton chose the Heels over a long list of schools including South Carolina, Louisville, Georgia, Florida State, Clemson and others, according to 247Sports.com.
Next to go was 6-4, 277-pound offensive guard Nick Polino. The young man out of Buford, Ga., picked Chapel Hill over offers from Virginia Tech, California, Arkansas and others. Polino was excited to spread the word and did so with this tweet:
So I am humbled to announce that I have committed to be a student athlete at the University of North Carolina pic.twitter.com/msFFMNhc8N— Nick Polino (@nick_polino_74) June 22, 2014
Polino is the fifth offensive lineman the join the Heels’ 2015 class.
North Carolina’s third commit on Saturday came from Juval Mollette. Mollette was the only in-state recruit to pick UNC on Saturday. This 6-4 prospect at wide receiver will provide a very tall downfield target for the Heels.
His senior year, Mollette averaged 11.8 yards per reception and hauled in nine touchdown passes.
The final recruit to commit to UNC on Saturday came from a cornerback from Jacksonville, Fla. Javarius Davis is the third defensive back to commit to UNC’s 15-man class. Davis expressed his excitement via Twitter:
God just lead me to the decision to verbal commit to university of North Carolina blessed to be at this point pic.twitter.com/N3ng5IuuEy— javarius Davis (@javariusdavis1) June 22, 2014
According to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings, Davis is rated the No. 85 prospect from the state of Florida.
