Wake Forest landed its tenth commitment for its 2014 recruiting class on Friday night when quarterback Lemar Harris committed to the Demon Deacons.
Harris is a three-star quarterback out of Millbrook High School in Raleigh, NC. At 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, Harris has a good frame for a rising high school senior, and boasts superb athleticism as well.
He impressed the Wake Forest coaching staff at its camp in July, where he ran a 4.4 40, and was offered a scholarship. While Harris only held an offer from Campbell before Wake offered, he was being recruited by Boston College and Georgia Tech as well.
According to 247Sports.com, Harris is the 28th-best player in the state of North Carolina and the 97th-ranked athlete nationally.
Harris threw for over 1,000 yards last year for Millbrook and ran for another 200. He is listed at a QB and ATH, and will get a look at the quarterback position for the Deacs. A very versatile player, Harris will likely find a spot somewhere, even if his future as a QB does not work out.
Wake Forest is ranked 13th in the ACC for the class of 2014, ahead of only Maryland. The recent commitment of Harris does put Wake on the heels of Syracuse for 12th-place according to 247Sports.com.
