Boston College In On 4-Star Receiver

Boston College is in the thick of it with 2014 four-star wide receiver Juwan Johnson, but the Eagles are facing elite competition to land his services.

Last week, Johnson told Rivals.com that Boston College was in his top five and that he would almost definitely take an official visit to Chestnut Hill. He said Boston College’s academic reputation and status as an up-and-comer were major draws for him.

But yesterday, an offer from Nick Saban at Alabama has Johnson shuffling around his top five. Now, he’s expected to use one of his official visits on Alabama, who immediately joined his top five. Michigan and Ohio State are two other schools that Johnson will visit.

Boston College was recruiting the New Jersey prospect before the elite programs got involved, so that will help BC coach Steve Addazio stay in the picture with Johnson.

However, a recruitment that once appeared very promising for the Eagles is now looking like a long shot.
