New Boston College coach Steve Addazio has added yet another prospect to his 2014 recruiting class. With the addition of Kevin Bletzer the Eagles coach now has 16 commitments. Only three schools have more commitments – Texas, Baylor and Kentucky.
Bletzer is a three-sport athlete at Catholic Memorial in West Roxbury (MA) and is the seventh player from Massachusetts to join the Eagles' 2014 class.
The 6-1, 195-pound Bletzer, who also plays hockey and lacrosse, was given an offer by the Eagles after a strong performance at the team’s recent camp. It was the first offer Bletzer received from an FBS school. Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine were among the schools that had also showed interested in the versatile athlete.
Though he spends time at cornerback and safety, in his senior year, Bletzer will likely play linebacker on the defensive end of the ball and is generally projected as a linebacker at the college level, due to his 4.8 40-yard dash time.
