ACC Recruiting Twitter Compilation, Jan. 20

Monday, January 20, 2014 4:38pm

We've collected today's top ACC-related recruiting tweets from Twitter. They're listed below and divided up by school.

Boston College

It looks like BC might be making a late move on Dixon, a 2014 wideout from Lynn Haven, Fla. Before the Eagles swooped in, Dixon’s biggest offer was from South Florida.

Clemson

Last night, Thompson - a native of Durham, NC - pledged to the Tigers. Thompson has good size (6-2, 190-pounds) and the speed to become a weapon in Chad Morris’ offense. Watkins and Bryant are headed to the pros; we’ll see if the 4-star Thompson can become a factor as a freshman in 2014.

More on Thompson, audio-visual style.

Duke

Some members of the Duke football staff, including Coach Cut, hit the recruiting trail in style this morning.

This would be Davis Koppenhaver, who committed to Duke back in September (he visited the school this weekend, too). Koppenhaver is one of those basketball-playing tight ends (great size: 6-5, 210-pounds), and his stellar senior season has been rewarded.

Florida State

Georgia Tech

Nine of the 10 players in on official visits were already Georgia Tech commitments. The one undecided target was Michael Sawyers, a defensive tackle from Nashville, Tenn. who de-committed from Vanderbilt after James Franklin’s departure.

Louisville

Maryland

Miami

Smith - a four-star OLB - committed to the U in late June. This weekend he took his official visit to Miami’s campus...it apparently went well. Smith claims his verbal is solid, cancelled other scheduled visits to other schools.

UNC

N.C. State

According to Brian Dohn (a national recruiting analyst for Scout.com), Vincent lacks size; his footwork and technique are solid, however.

Notre Dame

Pitt

Syracuse

Virginia

Virginia Tech

Tough luck for the Hokies here. Taylor - a three-star offensive tackle - committed to Virginia Tech in July. But after taking his official visit to Ohio State this weekend, Taylor - who hails from Columbus, Ohio, for the record - de-committed from Tech and pledged to the Buckeyes today.

Ohio State offered Taylor a scholarship just a little over a week ago.
