Boston College
Matt Patchan, the offensive tackle transfer from Florida, is adjustng to his role as protector of the blindside for Chase Rettig.

There's obviously a lot of excitement in Clemson after their big win over Georgia, but they need to beware of the pitfalls of getting too high after just one week. Running back Roderick McDowell was named in a court document about a stolen purse. Strictly on the field, McDowell's patience has paid off, as the redshirt senior finally has a chance to shine.

Apparently Duke is trying to hype up Jabari Parker as much as they can. They released some sort of trailer/video about him. The football team is trying to start the season 2-0 for the first time since 1998. David Cutcliffe likes his stable of running backs and will continue to rotate them.

Florida State
Apparently if Texas had offered Jameis Winston - or really given him a sniff in recruiting - he would be a Longhorn. Winston and Nick O'Leary each won weekly national quarterback and tight end (respectively) awards

Georgia Tech
The Yellow Jackets went into South Carolina to get their latest commitment, OL Jake Whitley. Though they already have a bye week, they are looking ahead to facing Duke next weekend. Paul Johnson was pretty ticked off about a cut block penalty his team got.

Thanks to the NCAA's weird and dumb rules on what you can and cannot give to athletes, Maryland is in the process of ensuring one of its players does in fact get the game ball...since that's not a violation. The football team continues to chug along and show improvement, even amidst the whole Big Ten and financial ruin stuff.

A 1983 loss to Florida fueled the dynasty that occurred with Miami football during the 80s and 90s. Both of those teams are gearing up to renew their rivalry again on Saturday. The Hurricanes are focused on stopping the run against Florida.

North Carolina
The Hunter Rawlings panel finished its look into UNC and concluded by making some recommendations for the university to improve its academics with athletics. UNC's women's sports won the Capitol One Cup in June but and will be honored at Saturday's game. T.J. Thorpe owned up to his mistake with the dropped punt against South Carolina, showing how he's matured.

N.C. State
Dave Doeren says he doesn't need Pete Thomas to win them games by himself, but wants his quarterback to stay within himself and do his job. In other words, Thomas needs to be a game manager.

Notre Dame
With all the discussion going on about the Michigan-Notre Dame rivalry, this writer says it was always about money. Brady Hoke is one who would be sad to see the rivalry end

After that beatdown from Florida State and Jameis Winston, the Panthers have a chance to bounce back with their upcoming schedule.

Former running back Roger Praetorious penned an article about the good and bad news after watching Syracuse last weekend. Northwestern QB Kain Colter plans to play against the Orange in the Journalism School Bowl. Scoop Jardine will be headed to Greece to play this year.

The receivers are hoping to avoid dropped balls when they take on Oregon. Doug Doughty writes that Darius Jennings is quietly becoming a very good receiver and racking up the stats. Virginia's coaches are going to do more to help David Watford from the sidelines.

Virginia Tech
Lane Stadium's 93-game streak of selling out games is in jeopardy against Western Carolina. The Hokie wide receivers are hoping to bounce back after a subpar performance against Alabama.

Wake Forest
Michael Campanaro will make his debut for Wake Forest this Friday against Boston College. The Deacs will probably be able to keep the Eagles guessing with their offensive talent.
