Boston College
The basketball team will face UConn in a few weeks in what will be their first matchup since 2005. Vegas has the Eagles as huge favorites against New Mexico State this weekend.

Clemson
Tajh Boyd set the career ACC touchdown record over the weekend, beating Philip Rivers' old mark of 112 TDs. Brad Brownell has a big hill to climb right now.

Duke
After a slow start, the Blue Devils beat Drury in an exhibition match. The tables have really turned now that Duke is a two-score favorite over N.C. State. Even though Duke football seems to have turned a page, some people don't realize that and consider them a joke still.

Florida State
For now, a big win over top-10 rival Miami has vaulted FSU back to No. 2 in the BCS standings. The Seminoles will need to hope for a loss by Oregon or Alabama. The rest of the schedule for FSU gives it a good chance to go undefeated, while Alabama and Oregon still have some challenges. Timmy Jernigan wants a shot at Alabama and said he doesn't think the Seminoles are second to anyone.

Georgia Tech
The Yellow Jackets received a commitment from defensive end Antonio Simmons, who visited over the weekend. The basketball team impressed on Friday against Young Harris.

Maryland
The basketball team had little trouble in an exhibition win over Catholic University. In particular, the team impressed with a strong defensive showing. Seth Allen broke his foot and will be out awhile, so how does that affect the Terps?

Miami
Star running back Duke Johnson will be out for the year after he broke his ankle in the loss to FSU. Miami needs to beat Florida State before its resurgence can be solidified. Even with the loss, all is not lost for Miami. There's a decent chance Miami gets another chance at FSU in the ACC championship game.

North Carolina
After UNC's win over N.C. State, some of the UNC players celebrated on the midfield logo in Raleigh. Though the celebration bothered the Wolfpack, this writer said they asked for it. The key for the win was an improved defense, which really settled down after the first few minutes.

N.C. State
Here are some positives and negatives from the UNC-N.C. State game. Injuries have really hurt the Wolfpack's depth, which in turn is hurting the play on the field. Russell Wilson and Mike Glennon faced each other in the NFL yesterday, with Wilson barely prevailing.

Notre Dame
The Irish continue to get bit by the injury bug. This time, it's linebacker Ben Councell, who will be out for the year with a knee injury. Here's the good, the bad and the ugly from the Navy game.

Pittsburgh
Pitt's offense is not moving in the right direction at the moment. With some younger players seeing playing time, are the Panthers looking toward the future? Here are three keys to the season for the basketball team.

Syracuse
Here's a look back at the keys to beating Wake Forest. The Orange won 13-0 after getting blown out 56-0 the week before, so there's a lot to like from that turnaround.

Virginia
The blowout loss to Clemson didn't feel all that different from the big loss to No. 2 Oregon. Wide receiver Keeon Johnson has provided a spark for a team that is struggling.

Virginia Tech
Basketball coach James Johnson is trying to get through some tough times at Virginia Tech. Kicker Cody Journell has had an up and down season so far, with a lot of downs, but he had a good game and hit some long field goals.

Wake Forest
The Wake Forest offense will have to overhaul the offense once again. The time is now for the basketball team to start winning. Here's a preview of the basketball team from the Fayetteville Observer.
