Derrick Favors took a long time to pick a school just a short distance from his home.

Favors, the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2009 according to PrepStars and Scout, chose hometown Georgia Tech over Georgia and N.C. State. Favors’ announcement was broadcast live Wednesday evening on ESPNU.
