President-elect Barack Obama was serious about wanting a college football playoff when he spoke to ESPN’s Chris Berman the night before the election. Forgive me, I tend not to take anything seriously when Boomer and his sweaty, stammering, 1993-tie-collecting persona are on my television. On top of that, Obama talking about a college playoff carries about as much substance as “change” and hearing another postseason proposal doesn’t send the tingle up my leg like it does for most sports fans.
