COLLEGE PARK — Maryland coach Gary Williams historically has done some of his best work when his back was against the wall. Williams has never been pressed this close to that proverbial wall.
Numerous recruiting missteps in recent years have resulted in a Maryland roster comprised largely of players who could be described as marginal by ACC standards. On paper, the Terrapins have less talent than last year’s squad, which compiled a 19-15 record and was relegated to the NIT.
