know it’s my job to pay attention to this stuff, but this year - more than any other - ACC football is still at the top of my mind even as basketball season begins to crank up. And I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one.

Thanks to the incredibly crowded standings in the ACC, a bunch of fan bases are still holding out hope that their team can make it to Tampa and then beyond to the Orange Bowl. A bunch of early season hoops games against Big South and MEAC schools can sit on the backburner while this drama unfolds.

Of course, with so many people holding out hope right now, brace yourself for a whole bunch of disappointment over the next few weeks.
