Jelani Jenkins is, without question, one of the finest high school football players in the Class of 2009.
Jenkins, who attends Our Lady of Good Counsel in Wheaton, Md., is rated the No. 1 outside linebacker by Rivals.com, Scout.com and several other recruiting services. The solidly-built, 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior is a truly national recruit with 50 scholarships from schools in every major conference.
Jenkins is also one of a select few five-star prospects that remained uncommitted going into the month of November. That’s due largely to the fact Jenkins and his family are being remarkably thorough in the recruiting process, carefully researching almost every single school that has offered.
