No. 11 Florida State: Will A Closer Team Be A Winning Team? Premium Content

TALLAHASSEE — Leonard Hamilton has left no stone unturned in his bid to elevate Florida State basketball.

Left to pick up the pieces of a program destitute of ACC-caliber talent upon his arrival in 2002, he’s reeled in three consensus top-10 recruiting classes and mined the junior college ranks to help fill voids.

More importantly, he has eradicated the culture of losing that has plagued the program since the early 1990s.

What Hamilton hasn’t done through his first six seasons is put FSU back into the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1997-98. No other ACC coach has ever survived a stretch as long without an NCAA berth.
