Boynton Picks Florida Over Duke
Duke went after Kenny Boynton hard. The Blue Devils made the 6-2 combo guard out of American Heritage School in Plantation, Fla., their top recruiting priority in the Class of 2009. They offered Boynton a chance to play in a high-octane offense that seemed ideally suited for his sweet shooting touch.
But Duke couldn’t make Durham, N.C. closer to south Florida than Gainesville is. And that may have been the biggest reason why Boynton chose Florida over the Blue Devils. Boynton made the announcement Thursday evening on ESPNU.
