There was a time in the not so distant past when recruiting football players from private schools in North Carolina was taboo for many college coaches.
The perception was the private school teams consisted of players who couldn’t make it at the public school level and that the competition there wasn’t of a high caliber. Only a handful of private schools even fielded football programs…
